I drank and was myself again, standing in my laboratory in Hyde's clothes. I walked over to the small cupboard and retrieved my own attire from where I had left it previously. Having donned it I made my way across the courtyard into the main house where I met Poole. I asked him to escort me to the drawing room and to fetch me some supper. 'Yes, sir, and what would that be?' he asked.

'I would like you to go to Mister Utterson - the lawyer in Gaunt Street?' He nodded to show that he knew who I was talking about, and I continued, '- and I should like you to invite him here for dinner in two weeks, on the 19th. Sunday.' I thought for a moment, then added, 'I will invite others so he doesn't think the night is anything special, but I will give you their names on another occasion. For now, can you just invite Utterson?'

Again Poole nodded, and seemed about to say something, when there came a knock at the front door.
